You can lose the weight. We can show you how.
Our approach to health is radically different than most. We believe optimal health and wellbeing is about what's added to your life, not what's subtracted from the scale. These habits add to your quality of life by getting your mind and body working together to work for you.
Northpoint practitioners and coaches are up-to-date on the rapidly evolving landscape of weight loss treatment.
We continuously analyze the latest research findings, adapt to evolving treatment guidelines, and explore innovative anti-obesity medications. This commitment ensures we provide evidence-based, up-to-date strategies for effective weight management, tailored to individual needs.
Our health coaches make sure you never go it alone. No matter what you are facing, your coach has likely been in your very same shoes and can help steer you to success. And when you are part of our program, you are part of a community of like-minded, like-hearted people who support each other through and through.
Preserving muscle mass during weight loss is critical, as weight regain often doesn't include muscle mass replacement. NPA strategies includes increasing protein intake, focusing on essential amino acids, and promoting strength training.
The NPA approach incorporates MyFitnessPal and a comprehensive body scan to enhance program effectiveness and promote lifestyle accountability. These tools assist coaches in monitoring patient compliance and tracking progress, potentially improving outcomes.
For most, it starts with achieving a healthy weight. This is the catalyst for changes. When you achieve your healthy weight, you increase your health, confidence, and vitality. You create space for the life you want.
While you are on the program, the amount of protein you eat is comparable to that found in a typical American meal plan. However, the amount of carbohydrates is less compared to what may be typically consumed. This is considered a moderate carbohydrate diet, and you can expect to take in less than 100 grams of total carbohydrates per day (generally in the range of 80-100 grams total).
This lower level of carbohydrates, coupled with the reduced calorie level of our program, allows your body to enter the fat-burning state. This gentle, but efficient fat-burning state helps the body achieve faster weight loss while helping retain muscle mass. The fat-burning state also helps naturally reduce appetite and hunger while still allowing you to feel sufficient levels of energy.
FAT BURN refers to a metabolic state where your body is burning fat instead of its preferred fuel of carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates exist in two forms in your diet - “free” or accessible carbs, and stored carbs called glycogen. When your body needs fuel, it will burn the free carbs first (like when you drink a glass of OJ). When all the free carbs are gone, your body will burn the stored carbs (glycogen). In humans, glycogen is made and stored primarily in the cells of the liver and the muscles, and contains carbs and water stored together. Once the glycogen and stored water are gone, your body turns to fat for its preferred fuel source.
Our program produces a MILD “fat-burning” state. For diets that invoke SERIOUS ketosis, like the Atkins diet, your carbs are limited to less than 20g per day. On this program, you are eating between 80 and 100g of carbs daily - enough to keep your brain functioning well, and JUST enough to put you into a mild “fat-burning” state. You will KNOW that you are in “fat-burn” IF you have been 100% ON PLAN for 3 days. This is because your body only stores enough glycogen to provide fuel for 3 days.
Our program is an effective, simple program scientifically designed to help you lose weight in the quickest, safest manner while maintaining your muscle mass and feeling great along the way. There are no pills, no gimmicks and no-nonsense. It involves a rock-solid nutrition program, education about lifestyle habits, one-on-one coaching, and a fantastic community! The calories are already counted for you. The macros are balanced. All you have to do is eat the food, drink the water, and enjoy the transformation process.
Most clients are eligible for our weight-loss program. The only clients who may be ineligible are those who are pregnant, those who are under 13 years of age, and those in active cancer treatment. While this is a medically-optimized program, your health coach may still recommend that you seek counsel from your physician for the management of certain issues.
Do not use any weight loss program if you are pregnant or under the age of 13. Northpoint’s plan for teens plan is appropriate for teens (13 to 17 years of age). For special medical or dietary needs, including food allergies, talk to your health coach.
When following a weight-loss program, talk with your healthcare provider about any medications, especially Coumadin® (warfarin), lithium, diabetes medication or medications for high blood pressure.
This depends a bit on which program you choose. We have seven different programs designed for special circumstances, including the Teens program, the Nursing Mother’s program, the Seniors Program, a program designed specifically for those with Diabetes and Gout, and a program for high-performance athletes. In order to get an idea of which program would work for you and how much it costs, please schedule your complimentary Health Assessment by contacting us via phone or email.
