I'd Like To Lose Weight

Why does maintaining a healthy weight become more difficult as we age?

How we can help:

Northpoint's weight management program takes a personalized, physician-led approach to improving body composition and long-term health. Dr. Ciocchetti has been assisting patients with weight loss since 2017... way before GLP1 medications were available. For this reason, we have a multi-modal program available to you.

Depending on your needs, your plan may include:

  • Access to our free online Northpoint Health Coach for everyday accountability, nutrition tracking, meal planning and guidance

  • Medical evaluation and individualized goal setting, including monthly body composition scans.

  • Nutrition guidance focused on sustainable habits.

  • Options to use meal-replacement programs if you struggle with cooking and making wise food choices

  • Prescription weight-management medications when appropriate

  • Strategies to preserve muscle while reducing body fat.

  • Ongoing support and accountability

Our goal isn't simply a smaller number on the scale. It's helping you feel healthier, stronger, and more comfortable in your body, one healthy choice at a time.

Weight Loss Q&A

Why is losing weight harder than it used to be?

Weight regulation is much more complicated than willpower.

Appetite signaling, genetics, sleep, stress, medications, insulin sensitivity, hormonal changes, activity, and changes in muscle mass can all influence body weight and body composition.

Do you prescribe weight-loss medications?

When medically appropriate, prescription medication can be one part of a comprehensive weight-management plan.

We’ll review your health history, previous efforts, goals, and risk factors before deciding whether medication makes sense for you.

Will I have to stay on medication forever?

There isn't one answer that applies to everyone.

Obesity and excess weight can behave like chronic medical conditions, and some people benefit from long-term treatment. Others may eventually reduce or discontinue medication. We’ll make those decisions individually rather than putting everyone on the same plan.

Is your program just about getting the number on the scale down?

No. Weight is only one measurement.

We care about health, body composition, maintaining muscle, how you feel, and whether the plan is something you can actually live with.

What if I've tried to lose weight before and gained it back?

You're hardly alone. Previous weight loss and regain doesn't mean you've failed.

It gives us useful information about what worked, what didn't, and where you may need a different kind of support this time.
